Description

Group: V 2.49b release
Category: Sequencer

Hi Peter!
Resurrecting my old G4 laptop :-)
Endian problems somewhere it seems... This screenshot is from Debian squeeze PPC - I also got the same problem when building 2.49b from svn in Debian lenny (used make as scons had problems with x264 and undefined altivec symbols)
Cannot try on OS X PPC as the builds on blender.org are lacking FFMPEG.

Btw. sound in dv renders is choppy can it be related?

Some info on input (blender -d):

Aah - forget it! There was a FFMPEG library mismatch (debian-multimedia.org). All is OK now with only Squeeze repos.
Why do Debian and Ubuntu link with system libs - I thought Blender used statically linked ffmpeg from extern?

This happens when you build from source and use the bundled ffmpeg on Debian PPC, reproduced now on Squeeze

Checked out FFMPEG current (20464) to extern - now preview works but rendered movies are red. Disabling RGBA-conversion and flipping in writeffmpeg.c does the trick! Output seems ok...

Had to change the Makefile in extern/ffmpeg (new configure options)

patches included.

This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
