Description

Relates to: T22461

When I try to use letters with accents or use the ç, in anything with text (text object, text editor, object name) they simply don't type, and if I copy and paste, in place of these letters, appear weird chars(the classic encoding problem).

in scripts I can use the unicode( \u30CD for example) but i not sure if is possible to use this in text objects.

keyboard: pt_br style
OS: ubuntu 10.10
version: Blender 2.55 rev33759 compiled with scons.

And sorry for my bad english...

"ç" is Unicode, but Blender never supported Unicode. Plus it is not good to name objects/file in different encodings except for ASCII.
There are plans to implemented, but it wasn't been done/completed.

This is still on current todo list.

Not sure why there is not such entry in our todo wiki, but yep it's known limitation.

But the problem is: these problem occur in the text editor and text-object, not only in the object names... the "Ç" for example works in Blender 2.49 in all things (text object, text editor, etc...) but no in Blender 2.5x... If I want to translate my game to portuguese for example, I can't :-/

By the way, if it's in TODO list... Thanks for the support :-)
