Create a text object
Enter edit mode
Do a lasso select operation
It should crash there..

Linux 64bit Ubuntu 10.10 r34373 doesn't seem to crash here when lasso'ing a text object in edit mode.

Confirmed on OSX 10.6.6
Official blender 2.56a and r34373

From the crash log:

Assertion failed: (!"lasso select on incorrect object type"), function view3d_lasso_select, file source/blender/editors/space_view3d/view3d_select.c, line 816.

blender: source/blender/editors/space_view3d/view3d_select.c:816: view3d_lasso_select: Assertion `!"lasso select on incorrect object type"' failed.
