winxp sp3

Blender Version
Broken: can happen on all version

Short description of error
zooming in/out can become extremely slow in some conditions and even prevent panning

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
following this thread :
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?330233-View-and-Camera-problems

The user Michalis found a method to repoduce the problem :

  • Default factory setting
  • Be in Perspective mode, zoom in until you're "inside" the default Cube
  • Press SHIFT+C ( or View -> Align View -> Center Cursor and View All)
  • zoom in, you will see that at some point the zoom can't get closer anymore to the Cube and you can't pan anymore from there.

to get out of that problem, Numpad - / CTRL - or View -> Align View -> View Selected

it is double posted,
I was faster,
sorry.
confirmed anyway.

On one of my scenes, I tried it.
Selected a sculpt, a bust.
shift+C, triggered the issue alright.
Ctrl+. fixed it.
I tried again, but now I can't reproduce it.
One for sure,
When it happens, ctrl+. stops this nasty thing.

I see that happen on 2.66 where you need to hit "." to correct it.
But on the latest release of 2.7rc2 I don't see that on OSX.
If you hit "." does that let you zoom in further?

thanks jenniferblender
indeed, "." fixes it. ctrl+. also fixes it.
tanks

I still don't understand what's happening.
shift+C is just a way to show how zoom works sometimes.
I can't replicate it al the time, most importantly I can't save and upload. It won't happen after reloading the blend.

Same issue as T39175, no need to make two reports for that…
