Description

Hey guys,

I wrote you a few weeks before regarding the incorrect (but intended) behaviour of the viewport switch.

In Maya you can hit the spacebar (Quadview), hover above the desired, different view, hit spacebar again and the selected new view appears
as the main viewport.

This is a VERY useful behaviour and in my opinion there's absolutely NO reason to change it.
(It worked in Blender 2.7 ...)
So please bring this feature back. (since Maya still works this way) ... in the meantime (or if you don't want to bring back this urgent feature)
Please tell me, how I can select a viewport after hitting spacebar...

hovering above a new viewport and try to select it with Shift/Alt/Ctrl + Space doesn't work and using the numbers is quite a weird way...

Thanks a lot,

Martin

Again,
The bug tracker isn't meant to be used for feature requests

This report mixes too many issues.

  • The maya key bindings isn't going to be a 100% accurate match of Maya functionality.
  • Quad-view behaviour was changed for a reason. See: T39039

The changing how the 3d view-port works is more a design issue.

So if there is an actual bug, please report it rather then mixing many issues together.
