Description

System Information
windows 7 64 bit sp1

Blender Version
Broken: 2.77a abf6f08
Worked: (optional)

If you paint texture in the 3d view and don't check the "Clamp overlap" in the bevel modifier will make blender use cpu 100%, than crash your computer. it's happen by sometimes, especially paint on the edge area, if you check "Clamp overlap" will work fine, and the small width in the save range will work too.

I am glad I found out why, it's make me crash too, you can download the blend file to verification this , hope this can helpful, sorry for my poor English, very thanks.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Just open the .blend file, than paint in the 3d view.

Can't redo this bug, did this ever work?

Where are you painting exactly when Blender hangs?

Hello leroy,
I personally *Veryfied* this bug, it do happen when dragging mouse repeatedly over those seam areas, the interface halted and caused cpu usage to rise to about 35%, and about five second later it resumed. Later I'll upload a gif describing this issue.

I can redo the slow-down @YimingWu (NicksBest) points out, but not the crash.

@Leroy (Leroy) - is Blender actually crashing? (exiting with some error), or does it just stop responding?

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) not actually crashing, no exiting or error tip, just stop responding, perhaps because my computer too low, the CPU will become very high, and than stop responding, but if I check "Clamp overlap", it's will be work fine. never happen that.
