Short description of error

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Whenever I try to paint in Texture Paint for extended periods of time (I can do 1 stroke every few seconds) my system hangs up and I need to close out of Blender by killing the task

Maybe its the same vein. I straight up started painting on the UV mesh instead of the actual model and didn't get any hangups so I think it has something to do with the brush projection on the 3D model.

Can confirm some hangups and even weird application kills.

It still crashes with that option selected.

Checked the file, some of the spiders eyes cover the entire image - so painting onto them will attempt to paint into all pixels.

To resolve this either UV-map those faces to a smaller region of the image or scale them to zero.
