Description

Hello, Blender Support,

I'm quit sure that is a bug, but I could'nt find the solution.

After open Blender and Drag and Drop a short video, 3:48 (time), length (13450) frames, only the sound strip is fully, but video strip is cut in 6725 frames.

I checked in the original video but it is normal.

Steps:

  1. Open Blender;
  2. Change to Video Editing;
  3. Drag and Drop video from my Desktop;

After that, I only see fully sound strip, but video strip is cut in 6725 frames. No error is report, only behavior.

Thanks.

Hi Marcelo, I'm not a developer, but maybe I know what is happening. A video strip shorter than the audio strip indicates that the video source's frame rate is different from the blender project's. To fix it, if it's the case, you can try one of these:

  • Match the project's frame rate to source video's: In the Render settings of Properties Panel, set the Frame Rate to half of its current value.
  • Match the strip's frame rate to project's: In the Edit Strip panel, set the video strip's length to the correct value (13450) and then add an speed effect. This effect adjusts the video speed automatically.

Let me know if it helped you.

We for sure won't be able to do anything without the video file.

It’s likely that it’s one from some smartphone or similar 'modern' recording device, those tend to use odd specific variations of common formats, which requires latest ffmpeg version to be handled correctly (we had recently a similar case, see T48686).

I restarted the project.

I'm trying to do that, but unfortunatelly I didn't get.

The strange thing is that I used the same smartphone to record short video (3966 frames), and it is normal.

Thanks for helping.
