Short description of error
While it's not broken, I've noticed that some sub-menu options in the UI are sorted alphabetically, while others aren't. It's a little disorienting. In Cycles Render, when applying materials, the shaders in the list (Glossy, Translucent, etc) are listed randomly, but if I go into other menus, the options are alphabetically sorted. Is there a way or possibility to add this to a future release? Please ignore if this is a duplicate. Had trouble looking for items.

In most cases, order of menu items depends on the order in which they are registered in RNA, so order is explicitly defined in code. There are in fact a couple of ways to order menu items: Alphabetical, usage frequency, context sensitivity, custom orders, ... It's just another UI controversy in which everyone has a different opinion. We want to solve such issues within the 2.8 project that aims to bring improvements to workflow support.

So since everything appears to work as intended in code, this issue is more of a feature request than a bug. We can't accept such requests in this tracker for organizational purposes, please use https://rightclickselect.com/p/ or the bf-funboard mailing list for such.
Closing the report, but thanks for reporting.
