Description

System Information
Ubuntu 17.10
GeForce GTX 660

Blender Version
2.79a

Short description of error
With Blender 2.79a using the hard cut (Sh+K) in a movie clip is not working correctly. The right side of clip, after the hard cut, has a different "dimmed" color and if you try to play the clip (Alt+A) after the cut, there is a frozen image.
I downloaded and installed Blender 2.79 and the problem disappeared. So this bug was introduced in Blender 2.79a.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Select movie clip
Sh+K
Play clip through the cut (Alt+A)

I have tried Blender 2.79a with a mp3 file and I can reproduce the "audio bug" as reported in T54200 by Mikhail Luzyanin (mikhluz) . Maybe these bugs are related.

After the cut the audio plays as if it was frozen. You get the same continuous sound all the way to the end of the clip.

Thanks for your dedication developers!

I have the same issue with 2.79a on a debian 9 box. Blender is setup and updated with Steam.

Reach me on IRC (same nick) if you think we could help to debug as Christopher mentioned on the other bug he was not able to reproduce.

Can confirm, Blender doesn't hard cut it probably in 2.79a.

Also this is not specific to what type of strip it is:
2.79a

T54200 is the same issue.
