Short description of error
n/a - feature request

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I have been using the script for many years now to allow blender to default to box selection mode ( https://github.com/PLyczkowski/rSelection ).
This is the only way Blender is usable for me and my workflow comming from a 3ds max and maya background. However I see with blender 2.8 this feature is still missing, and desperately needed.
As the script is a bit of a hack and needs to be re-run each time I load up blender. Even putting it in the startup folder, it fails to execute properly.

Would seriously love to see a check box for this added to the keymap screen to allow users migrating from other 3d software to work in Blender.
Note: It doesnt need the keyboard shortcuts for changing edit mode, im not sure why that part is in the script.

As you are saying, this is a feature request and not a bug report. And while we love to hear these ideas, this is not the right place for them.
Regarding the issue with the rSelection script: I have no trouble installing the addon, enabling it and saving User Settings. Next startup blender will have this enabled, no?
If there are further issues with the script, please get in contact with @Paweł Łyczkowski (plyczkowski) (as this script is not maintained by blender)

Note: there are presets in User Preferences > Input for Maya and Max already (even though these might come with their own problems/inconsistencies...)
Also: there is T54963 as well, which will probably land in 2.8, so that one could make you happy. If you have further suggestions, please participate in T54963?

Anyways, I'll close this as not-a-bug.
