Description

System Information
Windows x64, i7 4930K, Titan X graphic card

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.8 0f449541d2e
Worked: Blender 2.8 (July 2018)

Short description of error
When principled hair shader is applied to a particle (hair) system, the results are not shown on the viewport. Only a black constant color is represented. Was previously working on shade and render modes (eevee).

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. In Blender 2.8 open any hair scence from 2.79b, groomed on any mesh with principled hair shader.
  2. On Blender 2.8 the viewport doesn´t represent the principled hair shader on shade mode or render mode (eevee).

I provided a screen capture. The .blend file is 7mb. I´d gladly post it if you need it.
How would you know I appended other objects (hair) in the scene if the outline representation is broken? (https://developer.blender.org/T56203) I already reported these errors.
I don´t understand why this is marked as incomplete priority? What am I missing that I should include?
Thanks.

The Principled Hair BSDF for now is only compatible with Cycles. I don't think it is meant to work with EEVEE yet.

Landed in both master and Blender 2.8. Will it come to EEVEE? Eventually parts of it can be made compatible but it won't look the same as this is quite raytracing heavy

The standard Principled Shader does work for hair. Perhaps this is what previously worked in your case?

Here´s the link for a simple scene. Hair BSDF is not rendering on EEVEE: http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=50138

I'm getting the same thing. Works fine on cycles, shows up black in Eevee.

This shader is not supported in EEVEE yet.

There definitively should be a warning or some sign that this is not supported!!
I suspected a bug, tried different things, quit Blender and reloaded until I finally saw this bug.
