Crash using soft bodies

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps
Crash using soft bodies after applied other modifier subdivision surface

Cannot reproduce.
Tried with a subdivision modifier on the default cube, added softbody, play timeline, apply sudivision modifier, play timeline again (no crash).
However this (Physics) is still being ported, so WIP (see T56352)

Could you share your blendfile (plus the exact steps to reproduce)?
Would still be nice to have this, will have a look then.

Marking as incomplete until we have an example blend...
