With this add-on users can quickly generate writing animation of given length for selected curves.

Right, new addons would have to be for 2.8.

We are lacking an active addon maintainer to review incoming addons though.

I might be able to take the addon maintainer responsibility if the role is mostly reviewing the addons and communicating with the addon developers for inclusion. Just an idea.
