Short description of error

Object vanishes when pressing Ctrl+Alt+Numpad 0.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Load the attached .blend file Mars Base.blend. Press Ctrl+Alt+Numpad 0. Red fire truck vanishes; all other objects remain in place. Truck sometimes repositions to some bizarre angle way above Z=0, rotated some random amount on both X and Y axes.

You accidentally set the Circle.005 object (aka red fire truck) as camera in the scene settings. Remove it from there and everything should be normal again. I'm just not sure how it got there in the first place.

Probably by hitting Ctrl+Numpad 0 with the object selected, or with the menu comand "Set active object as camera"

I feel terrible about making stupid mistakes like this ... you people are plenty busy and you don't need somebody reporting their own mistakes as bugs, wasting your time. You are not here to correct my idiot mistakes. I apologize profusely. From this point forward, before I report something as a bug I will post in one of the Blender discussion forums to be sure it isn't my own mistake.

Don't worry, mistakes like this one also show us what is unclear in the UI. Checkout this: T60558. Same fundamental problem.
