Description

System Information
Operating system: Darwin-18.2.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M OpenGL Engine NVIDIA Corporation 4.1 NVIDIA-12.0.21 355.11.10.50.10.103

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 71), branch: master, commit date: 2019-05-20 22:03, hash: rBe78770039397
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
With Auto Depth Navigation option turned off it feels like less than 20fps when I navigate in the viewport.
When I turn that option on it feels like 40 or even 60fps and very pleasant to interact with.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Download and run Blender.
Select and orbit the default cube.
Feels bad.
Edit > Preferences > Navigation > Orbit & Pan > Auto Depth > click checkbox to enable
... also enable Orbit Around Selection.
Select and orbit the default cube.
Feels good.

I'd be content to leave Auto Depth on if not for the fact that I don't like Orbit Around Selection always on. When Orbit Around Selection is off I don't enjoy the manner in which Auto Depth behaves (which I assume is how it is meant to behave and not a bug).
