Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 74), branch: master, commit date: 2019-06-26 19:03, hash: rB155c62b070a9
Worked: versions from 2 monts ago worked just fine.

Short description of error
when I cut a part of any MP4 movie Strip and delete the empty space the audio strip does not update

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • open any MP4 in the VideoEditor
  • cut with shift + K a portion in the middle
  • press shift + backspace to delete empty space
  • press play over the union of the strips......the audio is Out of sync, it did not updated.
  • I have to save/reopen the .blend to make it work.

I can't seem to reproduce this on my end. Does it still happen with the latest build?
If yes, please upload a minimal example.

It seems like this might already be fixed rBb31af8682cb68c7c668116f791625c9f17651fc5
Can you confirm?

The problem seems to be with the shortcut, to delete the GAP between strip1 & strip2 & strip-n there are 2 options:

  • SHIFT BACKSPACE shortcut: the audio ends up out of SYNC....(but it deletes ALL GAPs at once)
  • manually moving the strips with G key it works well....(but it's SLOW when having many strips)...

the only workaround in the 1st case is save/reopen the file.

the following .blend file has that problem:

So you still have the issue with a build from today?

Yes the problem is still in today's build...

This was resolved/fixed by rB765ed6ffb9dd: Fix T68036: VSE: 'Remove Gaps' causes audio to go out of sync.
So T68036: Removing a gap in timeline causes audio to go out of sync was actually a duplicate of this report...

Will close, current 2.81 should already have the fix, feel free to comment again though if issues persist...
