Description

Currently Blender doesn't support edge loop selection for non-manifold edges.

We could use different logic for edge-loop selection in this case.

Note: this was originally a bug report, but is currently a known limitation.

This meshes has no-manifold edges, these can not be selected with 'Select Loop'. In Blender 2.79B it work same

I not think this is a regression or a bug

I agree, there are no loops to detect, just sequence.
So it is possible to select such a thing like a sequence (Ctrl+Shift+"+", or Next Active)
