Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-8.1-6.3.9600 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 Intel 4.2.0 - Build 10.18.10.3621

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 74), branch: master, commit date: 2019-07-18 14:52, hash: rB38d4483c6a51
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Eevee seems not to function on older generation Intel HD Graphics cards. Attempting to switch to render in Eevee or even switch to LookDev mode causes the program to crash. I've never experienced this problem with Cycles or Blender Internal before. As of now, there are no problems using Cycles, but it seems Eevee just is not compatible with older Intel HD graphics drivers.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open Blender > Make sure Eevee is the selected render engine > Switch to LookDev mode > Program Crashes

Secondly, Open Blender > In Either Eevee or Cycles > Switch to the Shading tab at the top of the screen > Program Crashes

Thirdly, Open Blender > Make sure Eevee is the selected render engine > Switch to rendered view > Program Crashes

IMO this is a duplicate bug report

Your Haswell GPU card meet minumum blender requirement if has al least 2G ram
Older GPU drivers had issue, please upgrade GPU drivers to last avaible from Intel site
If have already last drivers please update your report with System Info file from Help > Save System Info and update report title in a more consisten way for bugtracker

next time you can use Help > Report a Bug item and before you made a bugreport you must search if bug/issue is already reported from others users
you can check here https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/ if your hardware and software meet Blender requirement

thank you

I have updated my drivers. This is a problem I've faced with nearly every build of Blender 2.8 on my machine. Cycles works perfectly, but Eevee causes it to crash on rendering.

It seems that there are newer versions of compatible Intel drivers. (for example 10.18.10.5069).

Please download the latest version and report the results:

My sincere apologies for the inactivity. All my Intel drivers are up to date. Also, it seems the generation of integrated graphic cards that the computer mentioned in the description uses, is no longer receiving updates. Further, I tried downloading the drivers from the link provided by Germano above, but I got an error message saying the file is not compatible with my computer.

I've uprgraded to a newer laptop since last year. An 8th generation intel, with an Nvidia GPU. Thanks for your feedback though. I hope users of older hardware don't experience the same problem I did.
