Face Select selecting wrong faces on subdivided mesh

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

• create cube
• enter edit mode
• subdivide ( 2 - 3 or more cuts)
• press 3 for face select
• try to select faces one by one
• faces that can't be selected are actually selected on the other side, depending on the angle of rotation{F7640245}
