Description

System Information
Operating system: Win 10 Home, 64 bit, Single Language (Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763) running on Acer Aspire A315-53
Graphics card: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 integrated graphics

I have added 8 GB memory to my laptop, totaling to 12 GB DDR4 memory.
I am not running any other apps, to make sure that the entire memory is available to Blender.

Blender Version
Broken: (2.81, dated 17-8-2019), Hash ending with 2702.
Several nightlies have crashed like this.
Worked: (optional) 2.79 stable and 2.80 betas used to work fine.

Short description of error
Blender crashes after just two steps:

  1. TAB to enter Edit mode with the default cube,
  2. click anywhere (inside the cube or outside the cube).

That's it: Just two operations with the default cube. (no need to add a single object!)

But if I stay in the Object mode, Blender does NOT crash.
I can translate the cube (G, S, R) freely.

BTW I have recently added a few addons like-
Align tools
Snap utilities line,
Archimesh
ArchiPAck (paid version),
MB-LAB,
Fast CArve,
Mesh align plus,
Bolt factory
Destructive extrude
Extrude pull
Three point arch tool

I do not know how to revert to "plain vanilla" version of Blender, in case any of these addons is causing the crash.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Please gives all the info to find out the problem... simply from Blender itself by Help -> Report A Bug & copy and pasting missing info.
Try Load Factory setting (File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Setting) If you need to test in new project (after Load Factory) you must also save Startup file under same menu.
Also checks in Blender 2.8 stable version.
Always better to use Graphics Drivers latest version (form official site)

Here's the information from the Help >Report a bug.
(But there is nothing new here)

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17763 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 Intel 4.5.0 - Build 25.20.100.6373

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.81 (sub 2), branch: master, commit date: 2019-08-17 21:40, hash: rBe69fb4402702
Worked: (optional)

I used the File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Setting command.
Then saved the file using File -> Defaults -> Save Startup file command.

But even after that, the crash does not stop.

The help log given by the Help >Report a bug command is blank (there is no crash details there.)
If there is a debug version, please let me know, so that I can share the log.

I will try the 2.80 version now and report.

I installed V2.80 stable using the msi file.
This version does not crash at all.

So the problem seems to be in v2.81 on my laptop, somehow.

The only difference between 2.80 and 2.81 is the manner of installation:
I had installed all the 2.81 nightlies from zip files.
I simply unzipped the contents to C:\Program files\Util\Blender 2.8
The target folder is in a Windows-protected area.
Is this a possible cause of the problem?

To install 2.80, I deleted the above-mentioned folder, and then installed the v2.80 in a new folder C:\Program files\Util\Blender.

This folder does not have a space in its name. Is this a relevant factor?

Update you graphics drivers. 25.20.100.6373 Isn’t the latest version

I updated the driver, and now Blender 2.81 runs without any crash.
Kindly close this bug.

The following postscript is for other users who may have a similar problem:

I tried the "Update drivers" option from Control panel.
It offers two options: Search internet and Windows update.
In both modes, Windows reported that my current driver is the latest.

Finally, I Googled and reached intel support site for the UHD Graphics 620.
It listed a later version of the driver, but it was meant for Multiple Languages version of Windows 10.
As my Windows is a Single Language version, I feared that the driver may not be compatible.
Anyhow, I reasoned that if the driver is not compatible, Windows will abort the driver installation anyway.
So downloaded the driver and ran it; and restarted the laptop. It worked fine.

Thus, the lesson to learn is that the Update drivers dialog of Windows may sometimes mislead you.
