Description

System Information
Operating system: win 10
Graphics card:

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)

Sorry, this information is not on the splash screen.. Bug is for the latest 64bit install, v2.80.

Short description of error
Different layout keyboards give different results for shortcuts.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Install English US and English UK keyboards. In US mode '~' popup menu works just fine. In English UK, the same (¬) key, Top left under Esc doesn't work, nor does shft # where the tilda key is on this type of keyboard.

easy enough to work around, but i couldn't figure out why the ~ wasn't working when previously it had... I've seen other posts of this strange behavior, working one minute, then not again for other functions, so it may have affected other users.

Nice software - :-)

@nile (nile) Best why to report is form Blender itself Help -> Report a Bug (it's also puts system info automatically), and always follow the template. thanks

I think, here is not a bug with Blender in anyway, short-cut key are assigned to the latter directly e.g ` not matters which is keyboard layout. When you switch to different layout e.g From US to UK OS changes the latter/keys e.g. ` to ¬ that's is why it's is behaving differently..

Hum! But there is a confusion, In UK Keyboard Layout ` key is not accepted by blender... & in general (others apps) same key writes same latter e.g. ` only using Shift is effected by switching from US to UK as ~ (US) and ¬ (UK)
