Short description of error
When trying to isolate selection in edit mode with one object selected - the first time i try to isolate selection, the view resets to frame selected, but the object is not isolated. When I exist isolate selection and try it a second time, then it properly isolated the elements.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Create a new file and add some geometry
  • select a single object and toggle isolate selection
  • the view should now be centered around the object yet it isn;t isolated
  • toggle isolate selection to exit out of local mode, and then toggle it again. Now the object should be properly isolated.

Hi, thanks for the report.

I really cannot reproduce it, can you please test with the official stable 2.80 release as well.
Also I will need a simple .blend file, I tested with the default cube and it works fine here (it works the same as 2.79).

Hi,

It seems to be happening only in the latest 2.81 build.

I've tested in the official 2.80 build, and isolate works as expected.

Here is a GIF showing the behavior in the latest 2.81:

@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) can you reproduce this? I really can't.

@Dimitar Pouchnikov (dimitarsp) Could you please try with File โ†’ Defaults โ†’ Load Factory Settings to see if you still can reproduce this issue. (your purple cameras are a give away that you are not using the default settings ..)

Same issue.

Found a way to reproduce:

  • Open this file
  • Click Exclude on Collection 2 in outliner
  • Click Un-Exclude on Collection 2 in outliner
  • Select central cube and press [Num /]
    • Cube from Collection 2 still visible
  • press [Num /] twice
    • Now cube from Collection 2 hidden

Can confirm, checking...

Can confirm both scenarios btw.:

  • one is about newly added objects [these wont get hidden in local view even if unselected]
  • the other one about objects whos collection has just be included in the viewlayer again [these also wont get hidden in local view even if unselected]

@Dalai Felinto (dfelinto) : will put on your desk [since viewlayer visibility is your playground?]
