Short description of error
When switching to thumbnail view in the file brower they fail to show up

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. open blender 2.81
  2. fie>new>video editing
  3. choose a folder with video clips inside of it
  4. change view to thubnail view

I wasn't able to recreate this with given steps, neither in master nor in the release branch. Could you try with latest builds if the issue is still there? https://builder.blender.org/download/

This may also be related to or be the same issue as T71019 (note that I tried recreating this without the fix from T71019 applied).

Yeah with the latest build it seems to work fine. i should have made sure i'm working with the latest build.
