Mirror> X(Y,Z) local - works the same as X(Y,Z) Global

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open the file:

  1. Select an object> Apply the Mirror X Global command> Change Orientation in Redo last
  2. Go to Edit mode> Apply the Mirror X Global command> Change Orientation in Redo last

This should work as a Mirror modifier with added Mirror Object.

It seems to work as it is supposed to work:

Isn't it some confusion with operator properties and global ones?
Also do not confuse orientation with origin.

I agree, in edit mode everything works correctly.
But in object mode this does not work!
Try to rotate the object and do the same in Object mode - this does not work

Object mode is not as free as edit mode since transformation matrices must match the location, rotation, and scale values.
There is not much we can do in this case.

Can fix or remove it.
Please ask other modelers

It is not a bug. It just doesn't work the same way as edit mode. But does what it can.
