Short description of error
can't open any file from anywhere, tried the splash screen, the file menu - both open and open recent, also tried a 3-4 very different files so its probably not the files. blender just closes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
not applicable, unless you have the same laptop as me and build blender on the daily.

oh and by the way, i was checking to see if blender could open a file saved from this exact version hash: rB62ba16d7c450 so i added a monkey and press ctrl + 2 to give it subdivision and it again crashed.

Same issue here, opening old blend files or subdividing 4-5 times the default cube crashes the latest blender build (compiled on my windows station today a few hours ago). No issues with Blender 2.81 official.

im too cool to use the official releases, but yesterday all was working fine. meaning any version before the one i just built/compiled was good. and i build blender on the daily. how can i check the last version i was using?

I just build the latest updates, and I can't open any files ... blender crash

newest linux build works fine however first start was instant crash after that i started it from cmd and now seams to work fine tested with opening files with sub div objects etc... and no crash so far.

another person confirms also on linux that it works fine. nick: GAPsWORLD
