Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17763 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 Intel 4.5.0 - Build 23.20.16.4973

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.81 (sub 16), branch: master, commit date: 2019-11-20 14:27, hash: rB26bd5ebd42e3
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Broken render in default scene

NOTE: error does NOT occur if more than one shader is used (I specifically tested diffuse and principled BSDF, using either individually results in the observed error, using both in the scene caused the error not to appear)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Error is in default scene
One screenshot is of issue with rendering Eevee in the viewport
One screenshot is from pressing f12 to render a frame

there was such bug report few days ago. and user updated the graphic drivers and it fixed the problem

Old driver
Thanks for the report. The graphics driver version is too old. Please upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html

can you check if this helps?
also probably might be linked with https://developer.blender.org/T71576

Typing your driver version into the search box reveals that this issue was reported in July as T66561. Clement pointed out this is an old driver. I am not merging as of now since that one was closed due to inactivity.

FYI @Maciej Jutrzenka (Kramon) Issues in T71576 are multiple materials while using NVIDIA graphics cards and Windows, where this is a single material with one shader issue using Intel graphics card and Windows. mman2112 wrote that using 2 shaders in one material makes the issue disappear. This may cause them to appear to be related, but I believe they are different.

In any case, this looks to simply be an old driver issue. ?

That's so bizarre, according to the Dell website this version of the driver was updated in September 2019, (https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=j5pt2&oscode=wt64a&productcode=inspiron-13-7353-laptop) and yet T66561 from July has the same driver version.

For what it's worth I have the latest available driver for my system, but I think my issue is with Dell at this point and not Blender.

Thank you for your help.

don't download from dell support as those pages are usually tottal fail. Download directly from intel :)
