Cannot reproduce on Linux with an i7-6700K and a GTX980Ti (both CPU and GPU rendering look the same in object and edit mode).

I can confirm the problem.
The problem occcurs because the bevel modifier is disabled in the viewport.

But it should appear in the render, whether or not it is in edit mode.
So this is a bug.

I have the same problem. It occurs in Eevee and in Cycles.

Can confirm 2.82 and 2.81 also have the problem. Didn't check 2.80 though.
