Description:
The knife tool doesn't cut across any other objects in multi-object editing, but only the active one (last selected).

How to reproduce:
Create 2 or more objects, select them and enter edit mode. Try to use the knife tool and you'll see that you will only be able to cut the mesh of the active object.
