Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Hi! If I select several keys in graph editor with a box selection, I can’t see their values in N-panel. If I choose several keys using “shift”, I can see the values in N-panel. But if I wanna change the value for all these selected keys simultaneously in key value settings, only the first selected key changes value. That’s very inconvenient. Is it a bug? Maybe there’s a way to do it about which i don’t know? Some tip and trick?

Regarding the issue with box selection:

  • this is inconvenient, I personally always disliked it tbh. it is the same in the 3DView see T68975: lack of active object after using selection tools blocks menus
  • reasoning: deciding which element should be active is more or less arbitrary using Box selection (one could argue here that having this arbitrary is better than having no active element at all... but this is more or less a concious decision in blender)
  • so without active keyframe, you dont see the panels for Active FCurve and Active Keyframe either...

Regarding the issue with not being able to tweak all selected keyframes/elements:

  • with other UI elements, this is often possible using the Alt key (or using the context menu "Copy To Selected")
  • the panels in the Graph editor are pretty explicit though: Active FCurve, Active Keyframe, so they are not working with above features.

Both issue could be improved, no doubt, but nevertheless are working as intended atm. and would not be considered a bug...

So thanks for the report, but the issue reported here is a request for modified/improved behavior and not a bug in current behavior. Closing as this bug tracker is only for bugs and errors.
