When I use ctrl + e> mark seam in the uvs editor the object sometimes adds seams to all edges. it only happens if I have selected part of the mesh

Thanks for the report, but we need an example .blend file where we can then do Ctrl + E and see the problem.

In my tests I couldn't get it to fail.

Cannot reproduce here.

Just to make sure:

  • I assume you have tested this with File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings?
  • I assume you have tested this with a fresh build from https://builder.blender.org/download/
  • if that does not help, please share your example .blend file here [including the exact selection that leads to this issue...]

Good, if I have tried restarting everything from the factory. Attached file at the exact point where it happens.
It's actually something that has happened to me for quite some time but I never reported. As I comment it does not always happen, in the video that I attach I try not to happen because sometimes it does not fail but I was not able this time to get it right.

Thank you for reporting! I got that bug a few times in the past week, it's so annoying! just didn't report it because I couldn't reproduce.
