Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
It shouldn't be possible to extend a sound strip beyond the end frame with the Duration value in the Time panel. When grabbing the handle the duration is clamped correctly. Gif:

It shouldn't be possible to extend a sound strip beyond the end frame with the Duration value in the Time panel. When grabbing the handle the duration is clamped correctly.

I don't think this is correct. Otherwise how would you make play a clip at 0.5 pitch?

You can use the Speed Value at 0.5, however you wouldn't be able to Stretch to Length if it is some arbitrary duration to match video duration. So the bug actually is that the endpoint of a Sound strip can't be extended by dragging the handle with the mouse cursor.

I would say so, question is if there is legit reason why moving handle is limited like this
