This is most likely a graphics driver issue. According to the Blender requirements, the oldest Intel GPU is from the Haswell generation. You GPU is from the Haswell generation. This means for the best usability in Blender, you should be using the most up to date graphics drivers. They can be downloaded from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81496/Intel-HD-Graphics-4600

Same deal, i updated all drivers just now and restarted the computer, but it keeps showing me what its inside a cube or behind

funny thing though for some reason having shortcutuv on it makes it appear on the regular, but when it is off it only shows afer using the interactive widget or clicking with the middle mouse while it looks good

I should mention i have another graphic card on which is a gtx 1060 and i have both on for a screen each and for renders in cycles, but i updated that even before reporting this bug

-seems to hide masks and face sets (tried on both) maybe behind of this plane

-also tried face orientation and it is affected by it, no trace of it

Sadly I don't know where to go from here.

Can you do this:
From the top of Blender select Help -> Save System Info and upload the file here.

By chance does disabling anti-aliasing help?

Select from the top of Blender select Edit>Preferences.
Navigate to the Viewport tab.
Change "viewport anti-aliasing" to Single pass or No anti-aliasing.

Potentially related to the overlays task. T76273.

Unsure. @Clément Foucault (fclem) are you able to comment?

can confirm I had that bug, until i imported the old 2.82 settings that problem was gone

Disabling anti-aliasing is a workaround and not a definitive solution.
Anyway, a similar problem has been solved recently.
Can you try the latest daily build with anti-aliasing enabled? https://builder.blender.org/download/

(copied this so you see this is the daily 2.90)

I tried to check on it, apparently 8 samples default viewport antialiasing gives me that bug from T76273: Overlay glitches 2.83 beta on intel HD cards. and when i change to single pass anti aliasing happens what i am reporting about the draw of objects in a wrong order, i assume its litteraly the same thing, but it gets worse the more samples there is

(the config window was over blender but windows records only one window at a time so when te mouse goes right im changing from 8 pass to 1 pass and no antialiasing in that order)

@AnityEx (AnityEx) Please try again with tomorrow's build. The build you are testing does not include the fix.

DONE fine and dandy the latest build does all fine even with 32 samples the problem is gone!
