Description

System Information
Operating system: Darwin-20.0.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits (macOS 11.0 Beta (20A5354i))
Graphics card: Intel(R) Iris(TM) Plus Graphics 655 Intel Inc. 4.1 INTEL-16.0.39

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-09-01 22:29, hash: rBba188e721899
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Starting sometime yesterday (when compiling Blender myself) a screen bug appeared, which is now also present in the official alpha build. On macOS 11.0 Beta icons are not drawn anymore. Moreover, there are strange signs on the splash screen. See attached screenshot.

I am reporting this bug, although running a beta version of an OS because the issue was not present before, and also many previous versions of Blender (2.79b, 2.83.5, 2.90.0) run perfectly. A test on a Mac Pro running macOS 10.15.6 (19G2021) did not show this issue.

This is happening to me too in windows. I'm compiling it too. Is a bit ramdom, the graphic issues vary between executions but in most of them graphic issues happen somewhere.

Nevermind, this is fixed.
@Christoph Schmitz (chr.schmitz) Try to run "make update", so that all libraries and submodules are updated.
In my case I only ran a pull and that was the reason. We should always run "make update".
If it fixes it for you too, close this thread as resolved if you can please.

I always run "make update" first and then "make full". And as I said, the problem is also present in the last official alpha update.

Yes you are right, it's just that I ran blender like 5 consecutives times and there were no issues at all. But I've tried now, and sometimes issues reappear sparingly. This looks like a very high priority bug when it happens images or videos don't render at all.

I went back to version: 2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master (modified), commit date: 2020-08-30 21:49, hash: rB429afe0c626a. This version works correctly.
