Are you able to provide us with your system specifications?

This can be done by selecting from the top of Blender Help -> Save Sytem Info and uploading the file produced by that here.

Not really sure what to do here. Your GPU is technically supported and from what I can tell the drivers are fairly up to date. Maybe someone with more knowledge than I can help you with this.

One thing I could suggest is giving Blender 2.90 a try? http://blender.org/download

Same problem in 2.90.
But 2.82a is working.

Sorry, then I don't know what else to suggest.

It seems to be an issue that stems from part of the refactor of the viewport in Blender 2.83. Technically the refactor should still work on your GPU as it's above the minimum requirements for Blender and your GPU has what I believe is up to date drivers.

Maybe you could try installing the AMDGPU-PRO drivers for Linux?
I'm not too familiar with AMD GPUs so I can't walk you through the process. It may also be possible that you already have it installed but I couldn't tell from the system info file.
