Reporting this bug for reference.

Version 0b311eeca5486b763d43f0d9dadc5553a693e3e8

  • Start with factory settings.
  • Switch to the UV Editing tab.
  • Save the file
  • Reload the file
  • Switch to the "Sculpting" tab.

Blender crashes (with ASAN enabled, without it enabled it writes past the allocated bounds).
