Broken: 2.90.0

Short description of error
Fire/smoke simulation persist on viewport when jumping to frames not in simulation.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create a quick smoke sim.
Set simulation start-end range to 50-100 (not the scene range, but the simulation range)
Bake

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get a simulation to start from frame 50.

Just select the domain object, go to the Physics Properties panel, and inside CACHE you'll find Frame Start and End.

Apparently this only works for quick smoke simulation (not fire).
And I can't reproduce the problem. Simulation is only seen in the defined interval.

Richard Antalik (ISS) renamed this task from Fire simulation still visible on viewport on frame not inside simulation . to Mantaflow simulation visible in last evaluated state outside of cached range.Sep 16 2020, 1:18 PM

I'm also not sure how to reproduce this. Can someone prepare a simple .blend file, please?

I am fairly sure that this issue was fixed with rB03c2439d96e8. This commit was in master one week after bcon3 and so it just did not make it into the 2.90 release.

The fix was also too minor to get it into 2.90.1. And so it will be available with the 2.91 release.
