Short description of error
I want to put the Align Tools addon to it's own tab in the sidebar menu (N). Going to preferences and changing its Tab Category to e.g. 'Align' does just that. But after restarting Blender, it goes back to the default, which is the 'Item' tab.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

1. Activate Align Tools addon (bundled with Blender)
2. In the addon preferences, set the Tab Category from 'Item' to e.g. 'Align'
3. Observe: An 'Align' tab was created in the sidebar menu with Align Tools in it
4. Restart Blender
5. Observe: the Align Tools are back in 'Item' tab
