Short description of error
Blend File suddenly does not open. This seems to be a theme now with many of my Blender files. Although this one is small, and I started from scratch on it last week. Everything was working fine last few days. Worked yesterday on it with no problems. Tried to open today and it immediately crashes every time I try to open. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!?!?! Maybe because I upgraded my Mac from Mohave to Catalina? Either way, all of a sudden in the last few weeks most of my blend files crash when rendering, or like this file, they work fine for a few days, then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I can't open them because it crashes immediately... any help with this matter would be GREATLY appreciated ... my deadlines with clients are coming up, and Blender is proving to NOT be a viable option because of these crashes. Blender is a great application, but if your files suddenly start crashing out of nowhere with days/weeks of work...... then what's the point of using it? Really really really could use ANY help-- or ANY insight on ideas on what is happening.. this is my last shot before ill have to move on to another application, which is a huge bummer cause ive invested the last year of my life to learning Blender. thank you to anyone who wants to help me with this...

Your .blend crashes for me on Linux when I try to open it.

This is unusual. I would suspect something corrupting the files on your local machine.

Or you are doing something weird. (no offense) But in that case, I would expect to see problems saving the file.

Like in your previous report (T80907) we would really need to know what steps you've performed that resulted in the broken file. For instance, was there any particular modifier, tool, particles, physics etc. that you've used prior to the issue?

Hey Robert. Thank you for your reply. This is the EXACT process over the last few days. On Monday I built a simple ground landscape. I used basic nodes to color the landscape- I saved and re-opend through out the day, no issues. On Tues I created a simple bumble bee character (very simple circular meshes). I rigged the character with minimal bones. I opened and closed the project all day- no problems. On Wednesday I added a flower to the landscape, then used the particle system to populate the landscape with more of the flower. I opened and closed the project all day, no issues. Yesterday, I did some very simple animations of my Bumble Bee using an EMPTY as the driver. I opened and closed the proeject many times yesterday, no issues. I woke up today, tried to open the project, crash upon open.

That is the WHOLE process. Could one of those steps be a "particular modifier, tool, particle, etc"? The very last thing I did yesterday was add a keyframe for my EMPTY....but again, I did this MANY times yesterday with absolutely NO issues. There are literally 2 keyframes in the animation....very very SIMPLE. The file itself beyond small and simple 18megs. What other specific info can I give you? Can I send that actual bug report Blender spits out after the crash? And again, this is happening with many of my Blend files. I work on them for a few weeks with NO issues..... then suddenly, they won't open. Also, this problem has seemed to arise after I changed from Mohave to Catalina... could this be the issue? THANK YOU for any help...

Can I send that actual bug report Blender spits out after the crash?

Yes, the crash report macos shows after Blender crashes should be uploaded after saving to a text file.
