Blender crashes when trying to render in viewport

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
if the render device is set to CPU and one tries to render in viewport using Cycles with denoising enabled, blender crashes, a warning would be nice to have to troubleshoot the problem without too much hassle.
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
