Short description of error
Blender crashes whenever it loads a scene containing hair particles. I'm coming from a clean version of Blender with all of my add-ons turned off from the transition from 2.93, to 3.0.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
In a default scene, the moment I hit the "Hair" button in the default cube's particle system, Blender crashes. When the source object is hidden, it will not crash, however, the moment the source object is unhidden while the particle system is visible, it crashes.
