Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
The tool shuts down by itself when trying to import any STL or OBJ file

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
File--->Import--->.obj--->crash

Hi Sunil. Thanks for creating a new report.

Broken: version: 2.91.0, branch: master, commit date: 2020-11-25

Various fixes has been added since 2.91.0. So, please check again with recent blender versions: 3.0.0, 2.93LTS

BTW, I am not able to reproduce crash on 3.0.0

Which version are you using?

Hi Sunil, please update to most recent blender version (3.0.0, 2.93LTS). 2.91.0 is old and do not receive any updates.
