Description

So in sculpt mode you can hold ctrl to inverse the effect of the brush, this typically has the same performance as sculpting without holding ctrl, BUT, when sculpting with a pen pressure device AND holding ctrl the mesh starts updating extremely slowly. Sculpting without holding ctrl with my xp-pen device works perfectly fine (possibly a slight performance degrade, but at least a lot better than when not holding ctrl).

Note that Im holding ctrl on my keyboard, not using the buttons on my XP Pen tablet

To demonstrate:

OS: Win10 [Version 10.0.19043.1288]
Tablet model: XP-PEN 22E Pro https://www.xp-pen.com/product/63.html
XP Pen Driver: XP-PENWin_3.2.2.211027(New UI Driver) https://www.xp-pen.com/download-67.html

It must be related to the same problem described in T93408: Snap performance regression at high poll rate.

Can I change the poll rate somewhere in Blender to check if this is the case?

So uhm, I bought an i9-12900K recently and updated to Win11 hoping the bug would be less apparent, uhm I just wanted to say that the experience is quite unusable even with my new configuration.

How come there aren't more people complaining about this? There must be some workaround right? XP-Pen is a popular brand, if there are more people having the issues shouldnt there be bug reports on this all over the place here?

I spoke with xp-Pens support, turns out the issue was that the driver had to run with administrative privileges (which it was not configured to by default) - most softwares were unaffected, Blender being the only one getting the lag as a result.

Not sure if Blender can do anything to prevent this kind of issue, so I will close this as resolved

It's more suitable for it to be Archived since there was no fix from Blender side.
