Short description of error
[Adding a WeightedNormal and not enabling Autosmooth will block the UV editor from updating]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Create a mesh and UV Unwrap it. Add a "Weighted Normal" modifier without enabling Autosmooth. You should see Vertice points in the UV editor disappear leaving only edges and faces. Selecting different parts of the mesh in 3D view will not appear in the UV view as they should. The currently selected mesh is essentially frozen in the UV editor though modifications can be made. Toggling Object - Edit mode will cause the UV window to update{F12867634}]

UV editor selection was updated in version 2.83 and I don't see this mentioned in release notes, so will confirm.

Similar thing reported for other modifiers, see T96836: UV verts dont draw if certain modifiers are present (e.g geometry nodes, GPU subdiv, WeightedNormal w/o Autosmooth)
D14773 might also fix this issue here (but havent tested)

Turns out D14773 actually fixes this issue, too.

Will merge this into T96836 (even though this report is older) because that one already has a patch associated.
