Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 511.79

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-01 23:58, hash: rB4932269ec3fa
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
FBX format has 3 main standardized parameters for cameras: FieldOfView, FocalLength and FocusDistance. While Blender can import all 3 of them, it can correctly export only 2 of them. It does not export FocusDistance parameter.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Create a new camera object
  2. Enable Depth of Field on camera and animate Focus Distance parameter
  3. Export the camera using FBX
  4. Import the camera back using FBX

Result: FocusDistance Parameter was not exported and is not present on imported camera
Expected: FocusDistance Parameter is properly exported

Additional notes:
Import support of this attribute was added recently: https://developer.blender.org/D6666 So I expect the similar change has to be done to the exporter.

It seems this was already added in rBAfba4f07bc695160a5737217ca04b853db1f2c8aa couple of weeks ago. So it should work correctly in newer versions.

Is this in 3.1 or not?

@Ludvik Koutny (rawalanche) No. It will be in 3.2.
