Description

System Information
Operating system: macOS-12.3-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 580 OpenGL Engine ATI Technologies Inc. 4.1 ATI-4.8.7
note: this is a hackintosh but all components are supported

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-08 18:16, hash: rBc77597cd0e15

Short description of error
Unable to load render kernels for Metal GPU rendering.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open the default scene, and with the Cycles Render Devices set to metal and the RX 580 alone checked, change the Device to GPU Compute, and attempt a viewport render. After an unusually long time to compile the render kernels, in the top left of the viewport it will say "Failed to create compute pipeline state "integrator_init_from_camera", error: Compiler encountered an internal error".

@Omar Emara (OmarSquircleArt), this looks like a possible driver issue, but we'd need to verify whether this is occurring on real Apple devices.

this might happen on a Mac Pro, as you can put any graphics card in there. not sure though
