Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19042-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 497.09

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-08 18:16, hash: rBc77597cd0e15
Worked:

Short description of error
When you make tubes out of curves and then scale them in object mode and apply scale afterwards, you can't match up the bevel depth to other objects because the values are mismatched.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Create a curve
  2. Add a bevel depth to that curve
  3. Scale the curve
  4. Duplicate the curve
  5. Apply scale to the duplicate
  6. Scale the duplicate
  7. Compare the bevel depth values

Result: The values are the same.

Expected: The values should be different.

Workaround: No idea. Visually match, I guess.

Bonus bug: Resolution might suffer from something similar...

This is because the radii are changed when you apply scale.

you can't match up the bevel depth to other objects because the values are mismatched.

The resulting geometry is a combination of the bevel depth scaled by the curve points radii, so in order to get a visual match between the two objects, you would have to make sure you have the same radii, too [which you can do e.g. with Alt+S]

Makes sense?

Makes sense?

Perhaps from a technical standpoint, but from a Ux standpoint it does not.

Probably not ideal, but afraid this will not be considered a bug.
