Hi.
Here is the file and the steps to reproduce the problem:
https://blenderartists.org/t/blender-closes-when-im-selecting-vertices-after-joining-object/1370684/3

With GPU subdivision enabled and wireframe view I can reproduce the problem in Blender 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 RC

Hi, thanks for the report. I can not access the file you uploaded on drive. Can you make that public or simply post it here (drag & drop the file or use the upload file button)
Steps to reproduce the crash are very identical to what written in T96344: GPU subdivision: Crash on select in Edit Mode with X-Ray on and Mirror Modifier

@Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123) I still have the .blend file shared by the user and I can confirm that this report is a duplicate of T96344. I have applied the proposed patch D14485 to fix this and with it the .blend file does not crash

Thanks for the update. I'll merge these reports.
Now the fix is in master (3.2v), I would recommend @bahari nityacas (Nitya028) to test again on latest development builds: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily
Don't hesitate to comment if problem persists. Thanks again for the report :)
