Description

System Information
Operating system: Gentoo Linux
Graphics card: RX 480

Blender Version
Broken: 3.2.0 Alpha, cloned from Git and compiled an hour or two before this was posted
Worked: 3.1.0

Short description of error

Hair strands that use vertex colours for colouring have graphical glitches, while ones that do not use them (the beige and glowing hair in the Kvantumo image) look fine:

Test file in Cycles where it works fine:

Test file in Eevee material preview:

Using solid shading results in bug T96920 and using wireframe shading results in both strands as they should be and broken strands as in T96920 being displayed at the same time.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Add particle system to cube.

Change to Hair.

Go to material node editor.

Plug in a vertex color node into base color. It doesn't matter if there are vertex colours or not; the graphical glitch will show all the same.

@happysmash27 (happysmash27) : this seems to be also fixed by rBca37654b6327: Fix T96920 DRW: Regression: Hair strands are drawn in wrong place, can you confirm?

Can confirm, this has been fixed. Thanks @Clément Foucault (fclem) for the fix! That was extremely fast.

How does one close an issue with this user interface? Am I able to do so as the person who posted it?
