Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Keep only a cube in the scene
  • Set Viewport shading to wireframe
  • Add a Mirror modifier to the cube
  • Add a subdivision modifier to the cube
  • Enable the "On Cage" option from the subdivision modifier
  • Enter Edit Mode
  • Try Select any vertex
  • Crash

Duplicate report, closing: T96344: GPU subdivision: Crash on select in Edit Mode with X-Ray on and Mirror Modifier
Crash is fixed on latest 3.2 build and 3.1 corrective release. Please test there and report back if you still get the crash
